Allegiant Utility Services is a world class utility service organization that has been providing meter installation, meter testing and meter sales to Rural Electric Cooperatives and Municipalities for over 25 years. We also cater to electric cooperatives, city municipalities, and a variety of other businesses such as recreational vehicle parks and retirement communities. What You Will Do:

Individuals will be responsible for using a data driven approach, gathering data from residential and commercial gas meters for our customers. Meter reads are collected by driving by customer locations. The "reads" are downloaded into the data driven computer system mounted in the vehicle. Daily "reads" will be uploaded to the utility's server for metering and billing processes. This position is primarily a driving position; however, employees may be required to get out of the vehicle to provide a "visual read". This would require walking to the meter, providing a visual read and uploading to a handheld device. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Earn:

Wages: $18.00 per hour with an increase to $18.00 per hour after training (approximately 1 week).Benefits: Paid on-the-job training, Company Vehicle, Medical/Dental/Vision Plan, Life Insurance, Company provided uniforms, tools, paid holidays, and PTO (Personal Time Off).

Main Duties:

• Reading meters and entering readings into handheld computers.
• Prior meter reading experience helpful but not required.
• Extensive driving throughout Statesville, NC., metro and surrounding areas.
• Meet strict deadlines for completing meter reading routes.
• No experience necessary, paid training is provided.
• Ability to walk in all types of terrain.
• Work in all types of weather conditions.
• Ability to deal with wildlife and animals is required.

What You Will Need to be Successful in this Role:

• Must possess a valid, unexpired driver's license
• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalency required
• Proficient in using technology
• Adherence to safety requirements & have customer service experience
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and walking several miles per day

Pre-employment drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle record search will be completed.

Job Details:

Full-Time; Monday-Friday, 8-hour shift

Physical Requirements:

Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day; carry up to 20lbs of equipment; be able to effectively communicate with customers in a courteous manner displaying excellent customer service and perform other duties as assigned; Performs all work in a safe manner; Observes and follows all company/client procedures; Possess excellent customer service/communication skills; Be available for overtime (which may include weekends); Be comfortable using computers/technology.
